KEENAN ROSEN HANDYMAN

Back at Cherry Hill East, Keenan Rosen's pals all seemed to know where they were headed. They were directed. Focused. But this genial guy with the outgoing personality was admittedly unclear about his future. Come graduation, he knew he had to do something, but he wasn't delighted by the prospect of four more years of school. So Rosen followed in his father Norman's footsteps, hitting the road as a salesman in the textile business. "I'd ride that bus to New York every day and head for the garment district. That commute began to control my life," said Rosen, who lives in Cherry Hill with his wife and two kids. His next step; a foray into the real estate industry with his brother-in-law when the textile/fashion business took a nosedive. Soon, real estate morphed into home improvement as Keenan Rosen began to realize that what he loved best - and did best - was fixing things. "I was always handy, and that was the key," he recalled. "In the beginning, I did small jobs, and then when I decided to go out on my own in 1997 and do this full-time, I got into larger projects.

Now I have people working for me - but I keep a full set of tools in my trunk, and I still love to get my hands on problems." These days, Rosen's company does everything from bathrooms to basements to kitchens. But because "it's the little stuff that drives people crazy - the hanging gutters, the garage door that doesn't work right, the spot where the paint is missing," Rosen's company does it all. "I feel so lucky to have found what I really was meant to do," said this well- known super-handyman. "The days fly by like they never did when I was out selling a clothing line. I love my work, and I'm proud of what I do. And if my name is on a job, it better be right."
